Home-bred, grass-fed lamb
Alongside our pigs at Povey Farm, we keep a small pedigree flock of Suffolk sheep. Our home-bred lamb, hogget and mutton are available seasonally through our on-farm butchery.
A seasonal taste of Moss Valley
With a small flock, availability is limited. To enquire about the next batch, reserve a meat box or ask to hear when more becomes available, contact the butchery.
Hogget is sheep aged between one and two years; mutton comes from older sheep. Ask us about the cuts available and which would suit the meals you enjoy cooking.

What’s in a whole box?
- Two legs, whole or halved. We recommend halves for hogget and mutton.
- Two shoulders, whole or halved.
- Loin and rack prepared as joints, chops or a mixture.
- Breast, rolled or minced.
- Neck.
- Offal, on request.
- Burgers or koftas.
Weights vary: a whole lamb box is approximately 18–20kg, bone-in, while a whole hogget or mutton box is closer to 30kg. Please ask about the contents of quarter and half boxes when ordering.
Individual cuts & favourites
- Lamb and mint burgers: approximately £3.50 for two (£14/kg).
- Lamb koftas: approximately £3.80 for four (£14/kg).
- Minced meat: £16/kg.
- Shoulder: £16/kg.
- Leg: £25/kg.
Have a preference for how your meat is cut? Tell us when you order and we’ll accommodate it wherever possible. Please confirm availability and the final price with the butchery.
Reserve a box for collection
Order in advance and arrange collection from Povey Farm, Lightwood Lane, Sheffield, S8 8BG. All orders are collection only.
